Modern garden design - with flowering trees and terrace

Modern GARDEN DESIGN

Modern Art Collector’s Residence, United States

A young couple who are important modern art collectors were designing and building a modern home in an exclusive neighbourhood. They asked for a very minimalistic garden with great flexibility allowing them to feature and occasionally change their collection of sculptures in the landscape. The landscape design was a study of contrasts in materiality and minimalism. Privacy from the street was very important along with creating verdant garden rooms that thoughtfully considered scale and spatial arrangements. The planting palette was kept minimal and simple so as to not distract from the sculptures. A large gravel garden with up lighting provides a sensorial effect when entertaining. The project was featured in Patron, a premier magazine for the arts.
